This report contains the findings from the National Audit of Falls and Bone Health in Older People, which examined the organisation and commissioning of services (both in acute and primary care) provided to older people for falls prevention and bone health, and the clinical care provided for those that have fallen and suffered a fracture. This audit was commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) as part of the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP). Although some improvements have been made since previous audits, major variations between organisations persist and deficiencies in care remain widespread.
